IES EMPERADOR CARLOS, MEDINA DEL CAMPO

FROM THE LION KING TO THE ORIGIN OF LIFE ON EARTH

Last Wednesday, during the third period of the morning, I could enjoy one of Raquel's Biology lessons.
They started the lesson by recapping watching a video about the Circle of Life. They were discussing how it was destroyed when Simba had to feed himself with insects. She explained this was necessary for him to survive. This way she linked this to the lesson's main theme, Living Things.

Then, she divided the class into team. Each team had to think about the different questions she was displaying on the screen. Questions such as, Why is there Life on Earth ? or What do all living things have in common?she let them time to think and, in turns, they were answering the questions group by group. in the end, she uttered the correct response. This part was amazingly funny and entertaining. Students got really engaged in this challenging task.
Later on, Raquel finished the lesson by talking about cells and the vital functions they can perform as opposed to virus. cells are living things whereas viruses are not.
Honestly, I enjoyed Raquel's lesson so much that I would like to repeat the experience.
